I need to fold faster

I've been folding for a month now and I am currently sitting at 1199 points with 22 WU.

Is there anything I can do to fold faster

What are you folding on? Is it on 24/7? Are you using the gromacs and SSE if it's possible for you? Can you overclock? 22 WU's in a month seems pretty good to me.

I have a p4 2.4. I can't overclock because of my motherboard, I am planning on buying a new one shortly. my computer is on and folding 24/7, and I don't know what SSE and gromacs are.

For that rig, that production is AMAZING!

The solution to the production : BORG your friends computers - ask them, and persuade them to install folding on your behalf!

Recruit as many as possible!

You can increase production a little with overclocking your computer, just make sure it is stable. Big point increases require more computers. Newer computers are worth more because they operate faster. You can build a folding farm and/or borg other computers depending on your finances and motivation behind folding. If you don't have access to many computers, get to know someone who does. Maybe they will help you. Fold on!

I am going to get a new motherboard next week so I can overclock then I'll be able to improve a little

Hold on to your old motherboard then... It doesn't cost very much to get another CPU, stick of ram, PSU, and a cd-rom drive or small HDD. You can get a very minimal system folding for well under $200 usually and let it share your main interenet connection with a router or with ICS.

Edit: Use the -advmethods and -forceasm flags when you start the client, you will get much more points per week that way. If your CPU has HT, you'll want to run 2 clients on it. A P4 with HT is capable of over 1000 points per week, without HT more like 700 points per week- depending on how much its overclocked....
