View Full Version : dodgy un-overclockable motherboard

I recently upgraded to a Duron 800 witha beatsty super orb fan :but (there is always a but) the motherboard I purchased - I enquired if it overclocked well and she replied ahhh yes ahhhh veryy well - and any way the story goes I installed it all realised there were no jumper switches cant change cpu sppped or voltage in bios nohing - It is a GA-71XE4 gigabyte

does anybody know how to overclock one of these pieces of **** Oh and no I can't afford a new motherboard ( i am poor at the moment)

This probably will not help.
Check to see if the BIOS can be updated on your MB from their website. Also, you could manualy alter the bridges on the Duron chip to change your chip setting.

I HAD GA-7IXE4 , DURON 750 AND SUPER ORB.

It is overclockable only through CPU L1 briges and ... L7 Power briges but it is risky.
Find info on Crossing L1 briges to gain the correct speed (not exceeding 100 Mhz not to run out of the power) and enjoy.

I recommend you use and then sell this toy. buy something like KT7.
I also had not much money and I have purchased it after 4 months of fighting.
But in other( not at overclocking) Ga-7IXE4 is GOOD! Belive me.
