I have a Duron 650 on an MSI K7T Turbo. The highst i can get it to go is 866 mhz, but that's by merely switching the FSB from 100 (6.5x100) to 133 (6.5x133). I have tried connecting the L1 bridges on the CPU with pencil graphite but when i set the multipliers to, say, 7.5 and reboot, the BIOS locks up and the LED's are 1100 (green green red red) which translates to "Compressing BIOS to RAM for fast booting" according to the manual. I then removed the pencil lead with alcohol and tried using gold Testors model paint and it does the same thing. Could it be that that both the graphite and paint are not conductive enough to connect the bridges or could it be something else? Any one have any ideas?

The gold colored paint may be just that 'gold colored' and as such may have no conductive properties what so ever.
The technique used to unlock the L1 bridges with a pencil I believe takes rather a large build up of lead to be successful, not to mention a reasonable amount of pressure.. the best pencil to use for this task is apparently a 2B.

Most people who do this technique generally use another product "a windscreen defogger kit" which is what appears to have the most success
details of this technique can be found HERE (http://www.overclockers.com/tips475/)

Thanks for the info. I think I'll just get a conductive pen from Radio shack...the Circuit Writer and use that. From what I've been told, it's the best thing for this task.
