hey all, i'm getting a card that has 2.8 ns ram. i know theres a formula out there, but i cant find it :rolleyes: wondering what its potential is. i think it comes stock @ 800 mhz .. well some reviews say 400/800 other say 400/700 ??? thx in advance ! :)

frequency = 1.0/period

The period of the memory is 2.5 ns or 2.5*10^-9 sec which is a frequency=1.0/2.5ns=400Mhz.

DDR memory is Double Data Rate memory so it samples twice every period or at a rate of 2*frequency=2*400Mhz=800Mhz. Don't know what the 400/700 is about. :cool:

I think some cards are build "in spec" and some cards are build "out of spec" (Referring to the reference card).
Example: My card (Asus V8420S...Ti4200) is "out of spec" as it runs @ 260/550 stock and the reference card runs @ 250/440 stock.

For lamers;) there's a tool called OC Pad.
