I overclocked my duron 750mhz to 850mhz but saw no preformance incease in 3D Mark 2000 (my mark was around 4450 before and the same after) Why is this, thanks.

Well what kind of 3d card do you have? Its probably cause your video card is maxed out, so CPU speed won't matter anymore.

that's the problem. your video card is the limiting factor here.

i would agree my stinking s3 savage4 is pegged at 2447 in 3dmark 200 even with my duron 900@ 1103mhz. i need a ng geforce :-(

Your Card is not the problem-I had my K7600 and a TNT2 8meg Vanta-at 3759- core was 100mhz, mem was 125mhz, ans after raising it to 125/160 it hit like 4230. And my processor was not OCed. You have have some bad settings it think cause i got better scores with way slower hardware!! Now i have a tbird 750 and a 16 meg TNT Riva and get over 5500 at default settings. Also my board only does AGP at 2x so you all should check your settings-of drivers-and the K7600 was a .25 core

hard to beleive that your systems are setup correctly-heck i doubled the score of a Duron system that was over 400mhz faster than mine-also it hasd a way better video card. It just dont make sense? Im not flaming yall but-just saying that with those settings you should be upward of 6000 3dmarks??

3DMark2000 is very sensitive to the memory speed of your system. Overclocking the fsb as far as it will go and then lowering the multiplier if need be will help quite a bit. Use more agressive memory settings if your ram will support it. Also see if you can overclock the memory on your graphics card that is another limiting factor. OCing the vieo memory is more important to these benchmarks then the speed of the GPU although every little bit helps.

How do you have it overclocked? FSB or Multiplier? Always remember that a wider FSB is always better than a higher multiplier. If your Duron's stock speed is 7.5*100 and you want to go to 850, try 6.5*133 to see if you get an increase.

Good luck

I have a Voodoo 3 2000 @ 170 on a 1200 and i still only get about 4000, on my older 600 (non OC) with the same card I got 3500 or so, it's definitely your card. If you get a better one and make sure all of your settings are done right, you should be good to go.
