Hi,

I bought a Thunderbird 900MHZ, and itīs my first AMD System. My last system was a P3 700@933 using a 52w peltier, with temps: 4-6C idle and 25-30 full load.

Iīve always heard that the Tb was hotter than the P3, and now I am getting temps: 40-42 idle and 43-46 full load. Is it normal? I am using a Alpha PAL6032 on it. And my MB is a Soyo k7vta.

Thanks,

Yes, T BIrds are MUCH hotter than P3s. And yes those temps are very good and normal!

You have absoloutly nothing to worry about

from my experience that's not terrible, worry at 50, mine was around 30-35 idle and 44 under a load, then the fan on my GeForce went out and my temps are about the same as yours now (waitin on a blue orb)... Make sure you have a good hsf, and good thermal paste, but not too thick, airflow in the case is important too, make sure you have a good intake, and no obstructions or deadspots inside, goodluck!!
