I have my Duron overclocked from 650 to 933. The first success was at a voltage of 1.7 and the idle temperature was 45 degrees. I then tried 1.67v and now it idles at 49 degrees. Does lower voltages create more heat?

**in theory** less voltage creates less heat.

Also, the smaller the parts in a processor the less heat emmisions eg the P4 1.7GHz using a 0.13micron die gives out less heat than a 1.5Ghz using a 0.18micron die

In my experience, less voltage does create less heat. Did your ambient temp go up a little? That might explain it. Also, .03 volts isn't that much of a difference.

Dropping my voltage from 1.85 to 1.675 translated into between 8-10C on my 1.33@1466. Ambient temps do sound like a reasonable cause.
