well so far i got stupid value ram sticks (dual channel with 2 256MB sticks) running at 2.8Vdimm and 200mhz FSB (memtest stable) with 11-3-3-2.5 . These sticks were rated for 166FSB and cas 2.5 . Im not even sure if i even need the 2.9Vdimm to run at this, but ill se leter.

lol This looks familiar somehow. :)

ur thread title inspired me, lol

ugh, and my overclocking adventure stops at a FSB of 204 which is memtest stable.

lemme check what Vdimm it will take to keep it there (i used 2.9Vdimm right now without even going thru the rest of the lower ones)

You're 100% in sync, not on Memory Frequency Auto, right?

yes, i got it on 3/3. Also im running at 200FSB with only 2.6Vdimm. but with CAS 2.5

what is better?? 11-2-3-2.5 at 200FSB or 11-2-2-2 at 183FSB?

Hmmm, test it with some benches and let us know.

I think it'll be give and take where some programs will do better than others with either setting.

according to sisoft sandra the 200FSB with cas 2.5 runs faster.

CAS 2 FSB 200: 3069
2859

CAS 2.5 FSB 183: 2824
2675

using mem bandwith benchmark.

Check out the thread about the PC 2700 overclocking like a champ. Kingston seems to be running good chips in the slower RAM.

only difference is that mine, i bought about 2 or 4 months ago and it has the Infineon chips.
