Hello. First of all I've enjoyed reviewing the posts here. I've learned a lot about AMD. I've been overclocking Intels for years but I'm currently contemplating giving up my PIII for an AMD; I just don't like the new P4's. CPU Throttling - joke! Anyway, I'm almost set on a 1.33 or 1.4 T-Bird, A7M266, Crucial 2100 DDR, and an Alpha 6035A w/Delta fan. Money is not a big object but not yet ready for water cooling.

From you AMD veterans, does this appear to be a pretty good setup? Any particular chip to go with? (AXIA, AYHJA).
Any particular good place to get this chip? checked Pricewatch and resellerratings.com.
Are there any better cooling solutions? (ohter than O2)
Any problem with a Geforce3?
Any other comments welcome.
Is more than 300W pwr supply necessary?

Thanks

Todd

Well I'm right with ya man. I've also been overclocking intel chips for years. But for the difference in price and performance I'm also going to AMD (when I can sell my board, cpu, and ram). I'm getting the 1.4gig, with 256megs DDR PC2400, But I'm gonna wait till the Abit KG7 Raid comes out supposibly the end of this month. I'm running water cooling, have been for a month or two now. I'm happy with the results over air cooling. MUCH BETTER!

As far as cooling goes the new Millinium Glaciator is supposed to be pretty good.

Strictly a matter of choice, but right now, I don't think the chipsets for DDRAM are mature enough to go that route, so I'd stick with SDRAM for a while. Eventually the bugs will be worked out. Its hard to say exactly where to get the new stepping, but I believe Ed mentions one in the article on the front. These chips do tend to run hot, so go heavy-duty, like a Swiftech MC 462, or the new Millenium Gladiator. I prefer water. As to PSU, the larger the better. I have a 450W Enermax, which is plenty for my present setup, and will be good into the future.
