i think heatercores = better option.. if you want alot of surface area.. get 2 and run them in parallel.. its cheaper and more efficient =d

I have a Black Ice Xtreme with 2 120mm fans mounted on it and it works great for my water setup that I have. Its setup in a push/pull config.
Keeps temps nice and cool even in hot summer weather with well little case ventilation in the front since the 120mm fans are the only thing pulling air in. Also half of one 120mm fan is being basiclly blocked on the side that air is coming out of due to my ****ty setup.
Amazingly this little thing kept temps at a nice tempature (23-27C water) (27-38C CPU) for the space it was in and the lousy ventilation that it did have.
the reason i want black ice2 it is easy to mount
i dont know where to put it, if i get a heater core
i will put the black ice 2 on the roof of my lian li pc7

Yea thats a disadvantage of a heater core is there is no real mounting points on it straight out of the box. With the Black Ice's there is mounting points for fans and also you can make easy adjustments to attach it to your case without any hassles.
In my experiance with my setups the Blackice wins for cooling. Before I had a Heatercore with a 8 Gallon fishtank for cooling and was still running around the same temp that my air setup did for a slight overclock on the CPU. Now with the Blackice it was contained inside my system with a greatly reduced airflow and was 10C cooler then my previous setup.
So my experiance with it yes its a bit more money for the looks and the nice mounting points but you pay for what you get and you get a quality rad there.
are you using black ice x or just the black ice?
becoz iam getting the black ice2 which has the 3/8" connector
iam using the swiftech waterblock which just fits the 1/2" ID

I have a black ice x, which is basiclly just 2 of mine to make yours. I just use 3/8" fitting on my setup and works quiet well for this.

Ditto. I have two BIX's and am still kickin myself in the shins for getting them. True they are easier to mount, but you pay for the convienience via lack of a shroud. Having the fans mounted right up against the rad doesn't help performance. The level of difficulty of mounting a heater core is well within the grasp of a halfway intelligent person.
The only thing BIX's have going for them in my book is the ability to mount them in situations where space is a concern.

Get heatercores. If you can't figure out how to mount them you probably shouldn't be watercooling...
the reason i like it is becoz of the 3/8" barb
U can use fittings or whole tubing of higer diameter
in my opinion heatercores are just better - if I had to pay so much for "brand" radiators I wouldn't go WC
Anyway if you have lots of cash and you don't care how you spend it - "brand" rads wouldn't be bad...
i dont have much money to spend
it costed me $55 + $12 for shipping
i want to mod my case nicely with the rad.
its really hard to find a place for heater core
my case is too small to have too many tubes
iam planing to get the swiftech chipset cooler

just get a caprice core and make an external box for it, you will be pleased with the performance over the BIX2
plus its only $20 plus shipping from napaonline
you can just cut off the flares on the barbs with a hacksaw and 1/2" tubing will fit over them because theyre 5/8
i dont live in the US
here, watercooling is not for everyone
its so hard to find the parts for watercooling
whats wrong with the black ice2? is it really that bad?
it cant be worse than my black ice micro
it keeps my cpu at 43c with air con

Heatcore is damn big to fit inside PC7 without major case mod which is hard to do without proper tools. The only possible place is behind the 2 8cm intake fans but he's probably not going to sacrifice the hdd rack for a heatcore.
