Yes I know, it’s not worthy a Wow.

Not long a go i started playing Grand Prix Legends again. (D3Dfix)
To enjoy the game in all its beauty i had to upgrade the PC.
The game was running perfect now, whit all settings to max. But soon i discovered that in my 2-year absence the GPL community had made the game brand new, and after i installed all possible patches i lost 25% frames whit the same setting. I love this game and it deserves to run whit everything tuned to MAX. Since then i have bean obsessed whit CPU speed :-(

Q:
CPU will not boot higher than 1020mhz
Temp idle 26 / 35 - 3Dmark2001
I did the pencil trick, did it work?
CAK38 say it needs P from case P-supply, but it will only start whit P from mobo.
Do I have to buy a new power supply
How high do u think i can O/C whit my system specs.
Can u tell me an easy 1-2-3 guide to O/C MY system without 3 pages of warnings.

I was so happy that it passed the test that i forgot to read temps in VIA H-M.

Q: Where do i go from here
Any bios setup tips ?

To start, the PSU is not quite enough for the system and CPU you are describing. I would definately upgrade to 350 watt (430watt perferably).
Enermax and Antec are reliable and well made.
As far as the HSF goes do not plug into the MOBO. Try trick the Abit by plugging the fan off the Ge Force 2 into the fan header. Use a 3pin to 4 pin converter for the HSF.
There are many factors that affect your max. overclock. CPU temperature, quality of memory and luck, to name a few variables.
Now for tips for O/C, check the front page and read as much as you can about your MOBO. (i.e. FAQs and reviews.) There is no magic wand or fofo dust for overclocking. It is testing, experimenting and research. Have fun.LOL
Here is the Abit KT 7 faq to get you started.
