There are following Athlon XP CPUs floating around right now:
2000+, 2200+, 2400+

Not Thoroughbreds but Barton grade processor modules with 256 KB cache and CPU core size 20% bigger than T-Breds.

They're model 10 Thortons that may be converted to Bartons by closing the L2 bridge.

Do all Bartons have a stepping code whose second letter is Q?

Because that's how you would tell 2000+, 2200+, 2400+ Thortons.

Second letter is Q.
Even if the last letter is A, if the second letter is Q, it's a Thorton!

Question 2 would be Thortons or Thorntons?
THOR(oughbred)+(bar)TON
or
ThorNton horses?

All Bartons have their second letter being "Q." A few have their third letter being U, but for the most part, they all follow the form AQX_A; Thor(n)tons having the exact same steppings as Bartons.

So we found the way to tell a Thor(n)ton.

THANKS!

I think you can tell by the product number, for model 10 thorton it would be (for example) axdc2000 rather than axda2000 (a tbred).

Sites don't post codes usually but they do say AXDA so if they say AXDC... that would be a way to actually order one. That's great.

They should be better overclockers. They're bound to run cooler since the core area is larger.
