I'm planning out a wireless network in the future...

but for now, I have a few questions.

What's the "cheapest" way to network two computers on a cable connection? I would like both to have access whenever it needs.
I would assume a router (unless someone has another suggestion) are there any certain brands to look for?

(for future reference) Is there a wireless printer sharing option?

Linksys wireless router,, they are popular, cheap and work well.
There are also wireless print servers as well, I would just share the printer on one computer and print through it that way (Cheaper and Easy!)

the hands down cheapest way to network computers would be to run a crossover cable from the nic on one to the nic on the other. Now to add cable to that, get a second nic, connect that nic to the cable modem and enable internet connection sharing for that connection. Then set the comp that has only one NIC to obtain an IP address automatically and your done. ut I would recommend a linksys Wireless 4 port router (has a WAN port for cable, wifi antennas for wireless and 4 network ports for comps w/o wireless.
