Ok guys.
I have posted a lot of things here about my axia 1 ghz not wanting to go higher than 1380 mhz. 41 C idle 45-46 C loaded. 1.74 Volt

Today I wanted to see if the cpu cooling really was the problem. Which many have told me.

I opened all my windows in my room so the system temp decreased from 31 C to 26 C.

I highered the Volt to the maximum 1.92 and increased the speed at some different settings between 1400 mhz and 1500 mhz. The cpu never rised above 45 C and after the load bar in win2k the bluescreen appeared. I got angry and shutted down the computer for a few minutes and mounted my soundcard and mpeg card.

After this I started the computer again at 1430 mhz and windows started to load but just right after the icons showed up on the desktop the blue screen appeared again.

So I came to the conclusion that it has to be the Northbridge not cool enough, it probably cooled down a bit when the computer was off.

I have done some bad work mounting a new heatsink on the northbridge which I believe highered the temp on the chipset. When the board was brand new I managed to load windows at 1440 mhz but after some prime95 I showed the bluescreen.

So donīt you guys agree with me that it probably is the northbridge that needs a better cooling solution.

I donīt see you talk about cooling the northbridge chipset very often when talking about overclocking but it would be strange if it didnīt make difference.

UId mount a little 486 cpu cooler vantec fan on that Northbridge and see if that gets you where you wanna be.

It is so hard to mount the heatsink. Any suggestion. I donīt want to add glue on the surface. Maybe I should remove the plastic pins and use the 2 holes for screws or something.

how about mountin a blue orb for video cards on to the north bridge?
i m planin to that but waitin for the cash

i did this to my GPU-so it should work for the Northbridge.m put a little thermal grease in the center, and then put 4 little drops of superglue on the corners and then mount the HS-it will be stick in bout 10seconds. It does not affect the heat, then yoiu can just screw tha fan into the HS and your set

That was exactly what I did. Added some superglue Loctite 401. A drip on every corner but i donīt think that is a good solution because the pressure is not very high so the heat transport canīt be that great. Maybe if I use the two holes
