Im going to buy a new HSF i have done alot of reading and i think my best bet for cost/performance is the GlobalWin FOP32-1 with arctic silver and Im going to buy a sunon 92 mm 51cfm intake case fan I already have a 60 mm exh case fan plus ps fan my super orb doesnt perform as well as it should in my opinion i think i can get 1050 if it was cooled better my sig has all of my sys details my temps hit 54c at one time during full load and I think that is too hot. my chipset has active cooling is there any other areas i should try to apply active cooling and should i try to oc more with fsb than multi. I have not been able to oc as well with fsb in the past maybe a cooling issue??? I have the kt133 chipset and have read alot about it not being able to oc with fsb very well. I was also thinking of cutting a hole in the case panel over top the cpu and having a fan blow straight down on top similiar to HOOT's idea but not as extreme. Any comments, suggestions or opinions would be helpfull, Thanks in advance
Peace and Happy Oclocking

i don't consider that a good move.
based on the swiftech vs. the GW's... they are not the standard anymore.
then entering the ring is the Millennium Glaciator which dusts all competition for cool vs. cash factors. this IS the cooler!!!
check out the front page articles on it.
thats my opinion.
i too was sold on GW fop38 but now, for ten bucks more...
i like the MG alot!

in my experience, FSB rules.
and i had great luck with the fan above.. between the psu and cdrom, blowing down.
i don't know about the kt133, i heard some stuff negative, but i wanted ATA100 and 266 support, so i went 133A.. sorry i can't help there.
i hope this helps!

Well Hoot had a great idea about directing the air. It was the only way I could get this little AVIA over the 1.5 gig barrier. What helped the most in cooling was getting my chipset cooled off. I have the KT133a VIA chipset and I read they are notorious for getting hot and locking up. If you want extreme overclocks, you have to perform extreme mods. I don't even reconize my case anymore..lol. But all is good in the world of O/Cin. GOOD LUCK!!

My Duron 800 hits 1050 ( 7.5 x 140 ) with FOP-32 ... CPU@ 46 c and SYSTEM @ 26 c loaded (thats after running SI-Sandra burn in for 30 mins). and I would personally consider this a reasonable heatsink, while I am aware that there are better available, for the price it performs remarkably well and does the job.
I would consider that you FSB problem is to do with the KT133 chipset and it may be this that holds you back, it could be time to change the mobo

Get the Glaciator. It is only $40.00, and has a C/W of .18 :)

I appreciate your responses I have read about the MG but I saw that you couldnt replace the fan. I dont really like that because if you have fan failure your sol and have to buy another complete HSF. Is there another HSF with good cw that I could consider as an alternative??? I think it is the GW FOP-1 because is was redesigned for Duron/Tbird has better HS that prev version.

The Fop32-1 is a great price/performance heatsink. The Fop-38 and the WBK-38 are also very good but loud. If you can handle the sound of a delta, the CAK38 from globalwin gives good numbers. Swiftech also has an aluminum version of the 462A that is smaller but does well. But I would not worry too much about fan failure, i would really recommend the MG.
