As a bandaid remedy to all the stats problems Berkeley has been experiencing lately, they moved these services. That's fine except for the fact that some programs like SETITeam have a portion of the address hard-wired into thier code. This was at the root of the problems I was having last night and why no update was possible at that time.

After scouring the net and message boards and exchanging emails a work around has been found, at least till the next time Berkeley changes things.

Here is how to get SETITeam able to update once again:

http://www.ocsetiteam.com/images/SETITeamFIX.jpg

Right-click in the main SETITeam window and select "internet settings..." which will present you with the window you see above. Where I have placed the RED checkmark make sure it reads as follows:

"setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/fcgi-bin/fcgi"

without the quotes. No more - no less, exactly as it appears, and you should now once again receive updated stats as before.

As for the Daily Update and the TeamRace stats it is far too late in the day to try to make any entry for last night so everything for yesterday will be zeros, and tonight's numbers will be yesterday's results combined with tonight's.

Respectfully,
SkyHook

thanks for the info. Very useful - as I for one was not able to update. But everything works fine now!

of my mach's running SETI Spy?

I am not running SETISpy on any of my rigs so I'm not sure what if any effect the server change had on SETISpy's stats gathering routines.

This fix was intended for the SETITeam program, which if you aren't familiar with is strictly a stats gathering program.

Maybe some of our SETISpy gurus can enlighten you and I both.

thanks for the reply. since the address was so close to the stat tracking
of SETI Spy, i tried the new address in SETI Spy. i got an error. so i'm
back to the original. seems like SETI Spy is unaffected by berkeleys
change.
