CPU: Cathar Cascade (silver if possible) - i dunno where to get it

PM Cathar for ordering details (I lost the direct link to the ordering site). I think you might be out of luck on the Cascade SS. I think it was a one time thing. If you do manage to get one, your grand total is going to be WAY off.

Tubing: Clearflex 1/2 10ft - 1.50 per foot with 20% discount @ dangerden.com
It's $.65 a foot at mcmaster. Get 1/8" wall, not 1/16".Linky (http://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/109/html/0085.html)

Other than that, Looks good.

I can tell you for a fact that your absolutely right, a chunk of 3-5mm Silver for the base that Cathar is using is not cheap.

Yeah... your total would likely double =/.

I would also suggest a more powerful pump to go through all that.

I doubt double. The SS has about a $100 premium over the regular one for a grand total of $345.

If your going all out with an SS, you might as well go all out on the pump too. Don't get all crazy like vonkaar did with his pump.:p An Iwaki MD20RZT would be great. Be carefull... All of this can get WAY out of control before you know it. You've got a silver block, but your living off Top Ramen.

If you wind up with a copper Cascade, I'd go with the 1250. Lots of people are using that setup quite happily.

Well, add up his purchases, he didn't include the Cascade in the total =p.

Danner Mag 3 for the pump - cheaper and better
and DON'T use water wetter, especially not with an impingement block like the WW or Cascade. The film that it produces on all it touches inside the system can clog your waterblock and hurt flow. Plus it stains your tubing this terrible brown/pink color. Get some Dexcool or Zerex

LINK to why you shouldn't use water wetter (http://forum.oc-forums.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=142006&perpage=20&highlight=billa%20pump%20pressure&pagenumber=3)

wow ive never heard anything about water wetter being bad for cascade----how is the dannermag better?

thanks for the heads up on the tubing uberblue!

gosh i really hate how much the nb block costs is there anything better?

The danner MAG3 has a better head rating than the Ehiem, and with a relatively restrictive block like a Cascade, more head is better :P. The thing about the MAG series is the noise. They vibrate like a bed in a scumy motel.

Swiftech (http://www.swiftnets.com/) Check it out, they have several examples of it mounted on 875 boards.

At full load, my temperature dropped about 20C after switching to water. Before, tried a ALPHA PAL8045T and Swiftech MCX4000-B using 80mm 86CFM fan.

~edit: Pump: mag5 - 55.90 @ reefgeek.com

Stick with the MAG3. The MAG5 has the same overall head capabilty as the MAG3. It won't increase your flow any, just gonna dump more heat in the water.

hmm some guy told me to go mag5 since im double blocking

No. There is no reason to go with a Mag5.

UberBlue

Mag5 is essentialy a high flow version of the MAG3. They both have the same MAX head, but the 5 has a little more flow at lower back pressures at the expense of 10 more watts to get rid of. 10 watts can negate the effect of higher flow, maybe even making temps a little higher.

With two blocks, you're not going to be at the lower end of the P/Q graph. The MAG 5 is't going to push much more through your loop (couple of gallons more an hour at most) than a MAG3. Throw in the extra 10 watts from a MAG5, and you just paid more for nearly equal, or higher temps.

Link for every pump P/Q graph under the sun. (http://www.reefs.org/library/pumps/)

If what the man says is correct, looks that way. I wish somebody would drag Murphy out back and club him in the head.

I know nothing about GPU blocks, so I can't be of assistance here.

ConquereR, You must have beat me by mere seconds.
