View Full Version : Asus P4b533
I have a P4 2.4B on a ASUS P4533 board, And it's running
at 2999, But when I right click my computer? it tells me
3GHz, 3- fans,And I can go higher but not much, Do I need
a water cooler?
Unfortunatly you suffer the same fate as myself.
I have the same CPU/Mobo as you. Due to the P4B533 only supporting up to DDR333 (unofficially) you are pretty much limited to a FSB of 166, as thats the speed of the fastest ram you can kit it out with. Maybe if you brought some Corsair PC 2700 you could squeeze sumore out of it. Other wise 3Ghz will be it.
Also to break 3Ghz most if not all 2.4b's req there Vcore to be increased to about 1.6v depending on the chip.
To help us advise you better try and supply the following information.
What its idle and load temps are (you can get these with Asus Probe)
What your S Code is (found on the chip itself and its box click here (http://support.intel.com/support/processors/sspec/p4p.htm) for more info )
