hi.....

does anyone know of any places that sells amd cpus and give the steppings too, other than cpu city.

also cpucity are selling 1800+ kUIHB, has anyone got this chip yet? and what can it do?
not sure whether to buy or not.

KIUHB OCs pretty well, from what I've read.

An alternative is

www.pclincs.co.uk - they have JIUHB steppings but variable week codes.

i was looking around for cpu's and i just came across at http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/kl.asp?AvdID=1&CatID=4&GrpID=6&t=795&l=2 they have a barton +2600 has anyone got any of these or could it be a typo??If so being a new stepping it may be better than a +2500 for overclocking...???

That Xp2600+ on komplett looks like its brand new....... might be a good choice.
Komplett sell a big ammount of CPU's aswell.

AMD is phasing out 2500+ barton's and replacing them with 2600+'s.

This is to allow Thortons at 2000, 2200, 2400, Bartons at 2600, 2800, 3000, 3200, and then A64's at 3200+.

I suppose it's reasonable enough. We don't really need a CPU for every 100 PR points.

thats seems to make sense. well anyone out there with this new 2600+....???or found a review on it, please post a link.

http://www.overclock.co.uk (voted 2nd best shopping website in Future UK Intenet Awards 2002) are another retailer. Though they don't seem to list the steppings on their website anymore, you have to ask them what steppings they currently have in stock.
