hey i was just linkin up the l1 bridges on my duron with some defogger paint, plugged the sucker in, it was fine so i decided to check the multiplier, when i booted it went right into bios saying i had an invalid cpu speed.
frustrated i just wanted to overclock a little bit, just for a tiny ego boost after this slap in the face
i put the multipliter back to default 8.5x and changed the FSB to a safe 103 MHz
to my surprise i got the same message when i booted again, invalid cpu speed
correct me if im wrong but i thought even if my duron was locked i cuold still overclock via the FSB
to me it looks like this is not the case
any suggestions? my comp info is in the signature

stupid question, did you verify that the L1 are all bridged properly and none of them are touching the adjoining bridges?

yeah im pretty sure they are done correctly
wouldnt my processor screw up if i linked some of them together?

Yes, hence the "invalid cpu speed"

you might not have one of the bridges connected properly, not just have them crossed. If you can get them to go, wipe the stuff off with some acetone and start over.
