How much Overvolt is too much?

Hi guys,

I was just wondering what is considered a safe overvolt for DDR? Is 2.8 too much if I want my memory (2x512 Samsung PC2700) to last at least 3 years without problems? I saw ppl going much higher than that, but I know they do it knowing that they will get something better in the next 10-12 months. Thanks.

hi, i would also like to know, if i overvolted my memory to say 2.9 volts, would it get hotter, would it do better timings, or would it do higher clocks?
