Hi everyone
I'm all new to the overclocking game and i want to know what to do and how far to go when overclocking my 'MS-StarForce GeForce FX5200 Series NVIDIA' card oh yeah its the 128mb one if that helps at all. There is a utility that lets me adjust the 2D clock, the 3D clock and the memory clock. I am running this card on an ASUS P4C800 deluxe board. any info is greatly appreciated.
Cheers!!!!!!!

One approach would be to overclock the video card until you start getting artifacts, tearing, or screen lockups. Then back down your overclock some, so that it is stable while playing games and/or benchmarking.

A 10% oc on a video card is a pretty safe/conservative bet. You probably won't be able to get much higher than that with stock cooling on the card.

Pick up the Omega drivers for it too. They're modded Detinator drivers. You can get them here (http://www.omegacorner.com). They include a nifty little interface for tweaking your clock speeds.

You'll probably want to leave 2d clock frequencies alone (at least I do). I just raised my 3d clock speed, and my ram clock.

Test out your stability by running benchmarks and gaming. I've been running 3dMark03, 3dMark01SE, and AquaMark3. I ususally follow that up with some GTA Vice City, and some Splinter Cell.

Happy OC'ing! :D
