View Full Version : the drivers are...
under the new windows 2000 service pack, I heard they had the most optimized driver for the time. otherwise are the temps really too hot? what about the system temperature? I remember the glue between the heatsink was one of those sticky pads, but I had a bad o/c last time and a square of it was gone.. so there might be just a thing layer between the heatsink and the cpu with some gaps... infact i think that's on the spot. what do you think?

Can't reuse the sticky tape. That's your main culprit. Hardware Drivers will not affect the temp. You will need to clean the heat sink and chip with acetone to remove the adhesive and then use isopropyl alcohol to clean the acetone residue. Alcohol by itself will not remove all traces of the tape stuff. The generic heat sink paste (Radio Shack) works and if you really want to start tweaking then go with the Artic Silver II
thanks a lot man, i cherish your words.
