Amd 900mhz
380 crucial ram
300 watt ps

Ok i have a problem, when i run the computer at 1.87v and 1000mhz in 3d games i.e quake 3 and after 20min the game will drop half frame rates. Now i know its not the ram or video card or power supply because they have been all switched out. The problem seems to occur when the cpu temp gets up to 42 C. I went back to 900 mhz at 1.75 volts and everything works good. What should i do ? go to 1.96 voltage . What seems to be causeing this problem?

As you overclock the cpu gets more sensitive to temperature. What are you doing for case ventalation? Try running with the sides off it it help you need better case ventalation.

What HSF are you using?
Did you remove the stock thermal pad and use grease instead?

You can try raising the voltage more just watch your temps.

Hi there, If u want to know your system is *very* stable or not and the highest temp in fully loaded, I strongly reccommended "Prime95".
Download it and try to check your system. If your system could PASS the test (overnight) I'm pretty sure that you are free of problems :)

Not necessarily. I have a couple of OC settings that pass Prime95 Torture and fall flat on their face running 3D Mark 2001. Use both. Run Prime95 Torture and if it runs okay until the CPU temp stops climbing, then while it's good and toasty, run 3D Matk 2001 from madonion.com. If you can get through 3D Mark 2001 also, then you have a stable OC setup.

Well i dont have a socket a but a slot a 900 tbird and it isnt possible to put thermal greese on the cpu core. I tried upping the voltage to 1.97 and played unreal t and elite force but i ran into problems as the computer would beep randomly when in the program. The funny thing is i bought a fan at comp usa and heatsink rated up to 1000mhz and it had two fans on this thing. It was the comp usa brand and i stuck it on and my temps rose quick to 43c for cpu. my old ass 600 slot a fan a global win with one fan only rose to 39 and 41.5 at full load. SO i stuck my old fan back on last night and im going to return the comp usa fan later this week "14 day return policy" DONT BUY COMP USA BRAND ANYTHING " EVEN THERE POWER SUPPLYS SUCK" Anyway, I run a good name brand aopen now 300 watt. As far as case ventalation its normal, i do have 2 cdroms 2 hdds and a floppy.. but i do have a good PS and my temps are low. I did change it back to 900 last night and it was stable.
