View Full Version : Over Pressure using this Config?

Hi, I am new to water-cooling, although I have been reading these forums religiously and I think I have the grasp of things, but I still have a few concerns.

I recently ordered:

SwifTech MCW5002-A (3/8) :: Directron.com
Black Ice Micro II (3/8) :: Directron.com
ViaAqua 1300 Pump (most likely 1/2, which means i'll be getting a barb fitting) :: drsfostersmith.com

Now with this configuation, I was wondering if I am going to have too much pressure due to the caliber of the pump and the choice of ID water-cooling.

Many of you may ask why did I choose a BIMII radiator and a smaller ID... reason being is that I do not have a full tower, and I want to keep everything in the PC, since its a small case, room for the tubing to bend around is very limited, hence for the smaller ID.

By the looks of it, it should be okay, but I just want to make sure its not going to burst, one of my major concerns.

If anyone can point out any other concerns that I should have... please share! Thank you very much!

Hmm... you could use zip ties or hose clamps to make sure none of your hoses come off if you think there is going to be a lot of pressure. Pressure is a good and a bad thing, good being your pushing water as fast as you can through your cpu block, bad being if the hoses poped off and your MB got soaked :). I think having a resevior would help out alot with too much pressure, It allows a pressure release point. Hey I saw a really cool resevior that shoots the water up in this cylindrical resevior like a fountain. I can't remember where it is though.

Nope. You'll be fine.

Great, thanks for the replies!

One other question, when I hook up the tubing, should I use vasoline to help seal it? Or should just leave it alone and use zip ties?

I don't think I've ever heard of using vasoline, I'd just get some hose clamps. They are less then $1 a piece and you won't have to worry about them coming off ever. You should use teflon tape, otherwise known as plumbers tape on any threads you have, pretty sure its less then a $1 for a roll too.

I have a viaaqua 1300 and when I had 3/8 it didnt have enough pressure to make me worry.
