hey!
you're kinda opening a can of worms.....
if you change that motherboard, you'll probably be looking at re-installing windows. because, if you just drop it in, windows can become unstable.
sometimes it works, sometimes it don't.
aside from that, upgrading the board you have, should depend on your multiplier settings... are they even available? and do they go above 5.5?
it is possible the board accepts only "classic" slots, and not "T-birds" as i've seen this notation often. i'm not all that familiar with slot procs tho.
also, how much of your system is integrated? meaning, is your video, sound, and modem built into the current mobo?
so as if you change it, you lose it?
if it's seperate, you probably need to find the drivers.
best place to find mobos or anything else is pricewatch.com
where you can search by "type"... i.e. slot-A
hope this helps!

i think all the mobo from ibm and compaq and other brand name companies other than dell have all stuff onboard.......which is sad~
and replacin the mobo means a new case too~ and even if the stuff is seperated the drivers would be hard to find, not saying it impossible but really hard, but again, u can use generic drivers to just get it to run
