are there any motherboards with a bios, that can By-pass the lock on your cpu?

my friend says he has an xp2500+, and that it is locked, but his mobo lets him bypass that.....and raise the multipliers.

so i'm wondering......are there any motherboards that do this? or his chip already unlocked?

hope to sort this out.

edit: i changed the topic......because this isn't really as much of a motherboard question.......as it is an AMD XP2500+ question.......thats mainly what i am wondering......if the cpu is already unlocked.......or was it his mobo????

ok, he said his processor was a barton.....

i was wondering if it was his cpu or processor.

i was thinking his cpu was already unlocked.

good, i can prove him wrong, telling him it wasn't his motherboard......and that it was his cpu.......

thanks for the info guys......i wanted to get that sorted out........and a bit more info for my head too

thanks.
