It has baffled me for some time now, but what is the CAS latency and is it really an important thing to consider when buying DDR 3200 memory?

tRCD and tRP are important too.
As for definitions, they're probably several in-depth ones buried at intermittent periods in these forums. Searching might find them, but all you really know is that lower is better - to an extent.
