View Full Version : Multiplier Settings
OK, I am currently running a Duron 650, Gigabyte GA-7IXE4 MB, 384 meg ram PC-133. I have overclocked it to 715MHZ by boosting the FSB to 110 with MB jumpers. I can't figure out how to set the Multiplier either through the BIOS or the MB. If anyone knows how please let me know by e-mail or a reply.
Thanks,

have you unlocked the mult. yet? with the pencil trick
Well, I have taken my processor out and checked the L1 bridges and they came all connected by the factory. I'm pretty sure this is how to Unlock the Multiplier.

they may look connected but i doubt it since only the faster cpu have l1 bridges unlocked i believe
even if they are really connected, it doesn't hurt to pencil it again
correct me if i m wrong~

As I see it there are three possibilities with your L1 bridges:
1) It is an old chip and as such has closed L1 bridges which look exactly like all the other bridges on the chip (I think any chips made pre-week 23 2000 are factory unlocked);
2) You bought it pretested, in which case presumably the vendor unlocked it for you - in this case it'd be easy to tell, the L1 bridges would probably have blobs of silver paint or something over them;
3) The L1 bridges aren't joined at all - I'm sure this isn't the case, because you'd be able to tell - cut bridges look very different to uncut bridges, of which there are plenty on the ceramic for comparison.
I'm guessing it's 1) for your chip, in which case they really are joined and have never been cut - in that case you don't need to worry about the L1's anymore, it'll be something to do with the mobo.
Thanks for all the help guys, I will repencil the L1 bridges but i think my problem is I can't change my pultiplier in the bios and there are no jumpers or anything on the Mobo.
Maby some of the other bridges on the processor can change the multiplier? just a question. =)
if anyone knows please let me know.
Thanks,
Uluse
