I dont get it, one of the reasons that makes AMD so damn popular is the fact that they O/C a lot better! So why would AMD put an ANTI O/C thing in em?
I know because people may sell them at a higher clock setting blah blah blah, but that hasnt been a problem so far has it?
nah it was just one of my wild guesses i really doubt they locked it.
But its strange that i have heard of so many ppl with the 1.4 freezing on any multipilere higher than the default and not heard of anyone sucsessfully oc it.

The 'T-bird' version of the Athlon does not have any thermal protection, hence 'clock throttling' isn't an issue. As to if, and how AMD will implement this in desktop Palomino remains a great unknown.
Unfortunately,or perhaps fortunately, the overclocking community represents but a tiny fraction of overall processor sales. You shouldn't correlate AMD's success as of late due to an increase in the level of overclocking. I think that we should all be happy with the manufacturers for allowing this hobby to not only continue to exist, but flourish.

From what I have been reading it seems that most of the people having trouble are using Abit KT7A-R mobo's. Maybe this is just dumb luck or it could be an compatibility problem and may need a bios fix or just certain bios settings? My new 1.33 just arived, didn't have time to test it over the weekend so I will be trying it tonight on a KT7A-R and if that doesn't work I'll stick it in an Asus A7V133
