Guys I am looking for a CPU to go along with my Mach I setup. Trying to get the highest FSB possible.

I have finally learned the truth. An overclocked AMD beats an overclocked P4. My friend pacino has been testing his 2500+ @ 2.6Ghz vs his P4 2.4C @ 3.75Ghz and the AMD won in every test besides memory bandwith yes similar setups. However this thread is not to talk about this. This thread is to help me pick out the best CPU to go along with my Vapo. Here are the options.

1800+ DLT3C (DLT3C:JIUHB:0311MPMW)
Barton 2500+ (AQXEA:0332TPMW)
2100+ DUT3C (AIUHB:0302)
1700+ DLT3C (JIUHB:0310WPMW/XPMW)

1700+/1800+ >> 2.0 - 2.4GHz Air, 2.4 - 3.0GHz Water/Prommy/Vapo

2500+ >> Bought the Same as 1700/1800

2100+ >> 2GHz air, 2-2.7GHz Water/Prommy/Vapo

Kunark or Kunak or whatever his name is got 3Ghz with a Prommy and a week 310(I think) 2100+. He came to the conclusion (after going through somthing like 11 2100+'s) that the erlier the week the better the OC.

But I would get the barton if taht is a good stepping for it (I don't know).

That is an execellent steppping. If the 2500+ ocs the same as 1700/1800 then its a better pick for the barton core + higher fsb

dude its not just about majour FSB, altho AMD does like FSB....ur missing the fact the Barton has more cache than the T Bred B's by double. That accounts to approx. 100mhz increase on final overclock, sometimes more depending on what program ur running. Then again the chip is like double what a 1700/1800 is ;) ..... actually i seen a Barton 2500XP for £56 today! :O!!! dam thats cheap :)

Your 2500+ Barton won't O/C as high as either the 1700+ or 1800+ - the Vcore stocks out higher, and many people's results confirm that it has a lower wall than the T-Bred 'B'.

If I were you I would go with the 1700+/1800+, but try to get a newer week than 0310/0311. *Generally* newer weeks do a good deal better than older weeks, and you can get a JIUHB 0334 fairly easily right now in a retail box - check out a local computer store that moves it's stock quickly and will let you look at their retail 1800s and you are sure to find one.

I wouldn't pay extra money for a guaranteed stepping and week from some web site right now as T-Bred 'B's are extremely common in retail boxes as of now.

Good luck, and have fun with that evil looking vapo!! :D :)

dam felinusz thats a fine overclock ;) 2.5ghz nice.....U NEED BETA DDR MAN ;) get that rig running 220fsb+ :) 11.5X220 = 2.53ghz :O

Yeah - I know... :( My generic Infineon is the subject of much hatred.

[SARCASM]At least it'll do 140 with 2.8 VDIMM, and CAS 3!!!!![/SARCASM]

:(

Out of curiosity (and to illiviate the pain talking about my Infineon brings on!) - what happened to all the dead components in your sig? I feel for you... :(

Firstly, are you using a Vapo or a Mach I? From what I've seen, they do differ by around 100mhz or so. The 1700+ XPMW has been tried and true. An extremely large amount have used it with success, and it is capable of reaching 3 ghz with a modded Prometeia, or 2.8 or so with a stock unit. A couple have hit speeds close to 2.6ghz on air cooling with that particular stepping. I have observed the Barton to fall about 100mhz short of the 1700+, yet the added cache can make up for this in many situations. Some 1800+'s do incredibly, others not so well. I can't say anything about that particular stepping.

2100+ DUT3C (AIUHB:0302) < will have the highest oc when cooling isnt a problem. it reacts very well to voltage. 2.5Ghz on air cooling. 2.7 on water.

1700+ DLT3C has a lower max oc but does so with less voltage. caps out around 2.5 regardless of voltage but doesnt require water cooling to reach max .

I need some better ram hehe:D

So which one then 1700+ xpmw dlt3c, 2100+ dut3c or 2500+ aqxea for absolutely the best performance. will be cooling it with a stock prommy

get a t-bred... the extra cache on the barton's make it harder to o/c and the upper limit will be better with the t-bred....

I switched from a 2500+ @ 2.3ghz back to a 1700+ @ 2.5ghz

Man I would love to see those benchmark results. And the p4 is at a 312mhz system clock? Wow.
