Just put together my new PC (Abit NF7-S V2.0, Athlon XP Barton 2800+,1GB Corsair XMS PC2700,Tyan 9800 Pro) and the power supply my local PC dealer sold me was a Fortron/Source FSP530-60GNA and was wondering if this was a decent PSU?I had never heard of Fortron PSU before visiting this board. The thing that throws me off is it says Fortron/Source.Is this a cheaper brand of the Fortron PSU's.Will this be sufficient enough for my system?I think price was like $53.Thanks for any help and sorry for all the ?'s

It's one of the best units you could have gotten... you have to work hard to ever see the limits of one, and I'm not sure anyone has yet :D

Fortron is sold under a handful of names. Rest assured that is a high quality PSU you have there ;) I have the same model PSU running my dually rig and it doesn't skip a beat. Thats a VERY good price if you indeed paid $53. I paid $75 for mine...

Yea it will handle almost anything you throw at it. Plus at that price it was a very good deal. Newegg lists them at 75 bucks plus 5 bucks shipping. Does your local dealer have any more at that price? If so give me his addy.

This is a heck of a deal. Where did you find it for $53? How much is shipping. Maybe I should get one of those...? My 12v is at 11.5-11.7.

Heh looks like the forums found a new source of power supplies. LSWONZ28 you don't mind mailing out 10-20 power supplies a day do you? :D

More than likely yes. Really depends if you OC and how much. Unless you push your machine to the very limits with ocing it should do just fine.

If you are in my range of overclocking then a antec 430TP isn't enought you have to buy one of these forton's I guess. My 530forton should be here in about 2 day's.

my 400w fortron is on RMA, i'm using a 350w fortron now, and it's doing just fine, didn't have to sacrifice any o/c or anything, and the voltage rails are holding just fine. That psu should do you fine.
