so I ordered a DVD-burner and some dvd's online from a store i'll keep nameless (it's a big chain, so don't worry i'm not ripping off a small business). the burner was backordered, so they shipped the dvd's out first. I got the box, and it had the dvd's and a burner it in. I didn't think anything of it, except the drive didn't work. I took it back to a store and just returned it for my money back. Well then I got a box today with a burner...the one that was backordered. The first one that came was a mistake

$0 on my credit card + one DVD burner in my hand = BIG A** smile on my face. How sweet is that?! Sorry I had to gloat

or perhaps the guy who rang up your refund must explain to his boss where the extra DVD burner came from that wasnt ever purchased?

*edit* and just because its a "large chain" doesnt make it right. Big or small, heck even if it was microsoft it wouldn't make it ok.

It's theft, your stealing and breaking the law. It's against Forum rules to talk about such things and i have reported it to Admin.

It's not a theft. Well, in the UK it isn't.

Unsolicited goods (goods that you have asked for) are yours to do with as you please and the company has no right to take it back off you. If however you feel guilty and want to be an upstanding citizen, send the DVD burner back.

It doesn't apply if you have made an order and they sent you the wrong product or you have prior arrangements made in the sale to return wrongfully delivered items.

...and actually i don't see anything in the rules about it being wrong. Please point it out to me. If i'm mistaken i'll PM an admin and have him take this post down. If not, my smile will reign.

What you have done is received goods that you didn't pay for both wrong and illegal you basically just stole without ever showing up to do the stealing. Yes these types of threads are against the rule as such I am locking it, and you do know that we could report you to the proper authorities yes ? As well as be subpeona'd to testify, think about that before you post something like this next time.
