I just upgraded my internet to 600k Ethernet BB as I have Ethernet LAN 10/100 built into my mother board. It works great and is super fast but I have a few questions about it.

When I am in windows and using the internet there is a little yellow light that flashes like it is on drugs all the time. I am okay with this as i guess it is moving data around. However when i power teh PC down this little light next to the Ethernet connection is still going like buggery.

The only way I can stop it is to turn the mains power off or unplug the ethernet cable.

So should it be doing this? Is it okay to leave it plugged in? Can it harm my PC when it is powered off? Can people hack it if it is connected to the internet powered off (i think not but have to ask)? Basically should i be worried?

Thanks

You should have a router / firewall between your pc and the internet.
The lights staying on is normal, flashing just means data is being passed... If you are turned off, you should be safe...

Get a router...
