View Full Version : Should I wait to buy my Raptors?

I am going to buy 2 Raptors and put them into RAID 0. I am anxious to get them, but should I wait a month or so for the next generation of Raptors to come out?

If I wait I'm thinking I can get the current Raptors for under $100 as opposed to the $117 now.

Should I wait?

I would. I would bet the current price of Raptors will drop a few dollars after the new ones come out. Plus, then you can see if the new ones would be something to consider buying.

At the same time, I would understand if you went and bought them today. I need a RAID0 really bad too. Ummm.... gotta go. I need to check some hdd prices.

I'm in the same bind there man. Been looking to buy some Raptors and that. I'm planing on waiting til the new ones hit the market. This should in theroy drop the prices some. Also give me some time to sell some stuff that I have to make sure I have the money for it. But just like you I want them now, but if I can wait a little while and get 40+ buck better deal then today I'm up for it.

depends on item everbody always waits then a newer version comes out you wait for that....sorry my 2 cents is buy it i did and i have no regrets....so a 37g comes out then you will wait for that than a 120g will come out and wait for that...enjoy them now why wait.....

Fair enough my point is just In my case I want to have fun now I dont have a financial problem yet.."knock on wood" when some thing bigger and better comes out later get it, if money is not a problem.....

I know you have to buy sometime, but I see no reason to buy the old version when a new one is coming out in month. And I don't want more size, 37 gigs is plenty for me, I want more speed.
