how often should i take setup apart??

i was wondering how often i should take my setup apart and clean it all out change water etc..........

Depends...
If you are using good anti-alge and anti-corrosion addictives, taking apart setup isn't a need. Anyway one of my setups is running like a year without any problems, so I think that there's no need in cleaning more frequently than every year or 2 or maybe ever :)

Anyway if you're using some coloring addictives or other stuff that may stain your cycle, I suggest to clean it from time to time - like every 2-3 months. In my opinion if buying coloring stuff you had (if you had it), casues problems t oyou, you could reuse it by simply moving it from tubes to some canister before cleaning and then refilling again.

My setup has been together for over a year now with the same fluid (distilled + WW), and it's still clear, though the vinyl tubing has discolored. Don't notice anything out of the ordinary, so if you don't have anything weird in it, as long as it looks good let it go.
