Ok, I got this C-Media 8738 4 channel sound card. and after installing the drivers the card worked (and still does) fine in 2 speaker mode, I'm trying to see how it'd work in 4 channels.

First thing I'd like to know is: Is there a program or something that can isolate each channel so I can see if it is actually working?

When I first started trying to get this to work I don't think it worked right, and all I had is just same sound on both front and rear speakers, now I changed something, and now when I set to 4 channel

I only hear sound coming from the "green" plug.
when I set it to Xear 3D

I only hear sound from the "blue" plug.

I don't get it, why won't it work. What I did notice with the Xear 3D is that in winamp it won't play some tunes/words, which I interpret as the 4 channels are working, I just don't get the 2nd 2 channels :eh?:

Please help

well, after reinstalling the drivers and installing newer version Mixer, it seems to work in UT2k3, and AC3 codeced videos. I wonder why there's no sound coming from the rear speakers in winamp tho. It should work but oh well. whenever I'll go playing I'll turn this option on and off when not needed

As the outputs get rearrenged when going from regular to Xear 3D.

You'll never get surround out of MP3 (encoded in stereo ), unless you have something that upmixes it to include the rear channels.

well, this card does this. I'm now listening to MP3s and its playing from both front and rear speakers.

Look at this. I'm running this setting
and its awesome. playing NFS6: HP2 rocks w/ the D3D/EAX sound option turned on.
I'm now waiting for the RAM, so I can setup my A7V266-E, as it has same sound only its a 6 channel one, should rock even more :D
