I can not have all my machines on-line yet no place to put them till the study is finished.

However the wife is away so I will use the dining room table.

Should see a jump for me this weekend.

Nice one

You going for ghetto style rigs? Any chance of some pics ;) hehe.

Might post a pic -

Fairly boring:

3 x Chieftec Dragons (Silver Midi) (Me/wife/son)
1 x Chieftec Matrix (Silver full tower) (server) - case on order currently AOpen

Belkin KVM for the 4

Not sure about the monitor - corner desk so will probably stick with CRT as cheaper - more flexible e.g. can switch for 1600x1200 - 1024x768

Why leave it as a 'spurt'?? Keep them going! Dining room table? Bleh, order delivery pizza and she'll never complain.

Weekend boxes up and running:

1700+ at 1.67GHz
1700+ at 2.26GHz
1700+ at 1.91GHz

shame it only for the weekend until I get the study finished,

lighting and electrics today - wish me luck.

Oh quick question

the first box XP1700+ on Epox 8KTA3/+ W2K- I am not getting SSE just 3DNOW?

I have the force flag (shows in log) - others 2 and my main box are fine.

I was wondering if the version of W2K does not recognise the Althlon XP?

what console version are you using? if using 3.24 the forceasm flag will only use SSE for the first WU and then switch back to 3DNow, you'll either need to restart the console after each WU or download the 3.25beta client which will keep the SSE optimizations for all WUs if forceasm is used.

Hi Rich,

I am using the gui version 3.25beta so everything should be fine. I know it's now a typo as I used the same shortcuts for all three of the new boxes. Do some WU's not work with SSE? I will check the next one.

i'm pretty sure that it's only the Gromacs WUs that use the SSE or 3DNow optimizations, the older Tinker WUs and the Genome WUs use cores that don't support the extra boosts.

Rich,

Thanks for the input

The machine went strange on me - I tried SP4 (w2k) did not help a second Gromacs was predicted to take 40+ hours. I am going to re-cut the machine.

I am going to keep 2 of the extra machines going - I have power and light now in my new study. Desk by the end of next week then I can get broad band. So much easier than dial up.

Production going well position 931 in team 32 and rising.
