Ok, I was thinking of purchasing this along with an Abit NF7 motherboard. I am new to overclocking, so after I purchase my system what are the first steps/things I should buy before I begin my overclock venture. Also, what is the best stepping for 2500+ and besides the stepping what else do I look for to find a good overclocker. Thanks guys!

high quality pc3200 or higher ram is a must

a large hunk of copper ( a nice heatsink ) and high quality thermal paste and a nice fan to go with it.

a high quality powersupply of at least 450w.

On the steppings, i'm not too sure. I wouldnt be overly concerned about it. 2.3ghz on air is pretty much a given now on the 2500+'s

There is no "best" stepping or week. Get the newest CPU you can and just overclock it.

Every CPU has its week of production printed on it. A CPU produced in the 30th week of this year would read "0330."
