I need help Overclocking my Athlon T-Bird socket A 750MHz with ASUS A7V motherboard without soldering something to the hardware.
Is it possible?

Since this is my 1st Overclocking attempt I'm not ready to risk damaging my only computer with my clumsy hands and a hot soldering iron.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

I think u should read some of the beginner guide's located on the main page. That's a good start, then u spend some time here in the forum to learn the basics. I think that's the best way to get started. Do feel free to to post any questions u might have :)
Good luck

w/ a 750, you're running a 7.5 multiplier, with a 100 FSB. Raise the FSB a bit, and see how it goes. Unfortunately, the A7V boards have and older chipset, that dosn't support FSB's over say, 110 - 115 so you'll probably have to unlock your processor so you can change the multiplier. Just close the 4 L1 Bridges w/ a mechanical pencil, pop the chip back in and try to change the multiplier to something higher w/ a 100 FSB. Then all you have to do is find the place where your chip becomes unstable w/ multiplier, and back it off. Then start raising the FSB until it starts to become unstable, and back that off a bit, and there you go! Hope that helped.

I have had the best results with the A7V by setting it to jumper mode. Use the dip's and jumpers to set the fsb, multipier, and voltage. Jumper free mode was very problematic. Also if you get good ram like Crucial PC133 you will be able to set the ram speed to fsb+pci. I run a TBird 800 at 1.1gig on an A7V with10.5 multiplier and a fsb of 105 that put my memory at 140 and the performance of this setup is very good.

you never know what the a7v board can do
mine is a7v and i can go up to 133+ no problem
so test the fsb...doesn't hurt to try i guess
