Hey all,

I am not as tech savy as I would like...... but i know alot about computers and this may seem funny to most of you.... but this just stumps me.

I am building a new comp system, and I am looking at different online stores for a 1.4 ghz AMD 266 FSB.

Anyway, while looking i see the regular 1.4.... then one with AYHJA Core CPU ....... I also notice some of the 1.33's saying AXIA stepping or something (these were all OEM cpus also.... didnt see any of this stuff noted on Boxed processors)

What does it all mean ? and is one better than the other, because there defintely is a price difference.

get the 1.4 because thats a new stepping so it will run cooler than the AXIA's

also you will need a 400+ watt power supply for anything 1 ghz or higher when you run a t bird !

300watts wont cut it ? @!!#$!@% another waste of money LOL ........ in that case.... can u recommend a place to get a decent 400watt psu for a good price ?

(also, you seem to know ur stuff...... could u check out my post in the cooling section ?)

a 300w psu will serve you just fine. 400 is just overpriced and overkill in the power department imo. i run a 1.3 tbird just fine with a 300w. axia and ayhja refer to the different cores. the 1.4 has some more advanced cooling to it and thus runs cooler. depending on what heatsink or cooling system you use, the increased price might be worth the extra degrees you'll get, especially when overclocking. the axia core is also a good core though, and can overclock very well. check out the overclockers.com front page under cpu databse to see the oveclocked speeds of the various cpus. youll notice a lot of the top ones at the different speeds are axia's. dont see anything under the 1.4, but i have heard good things about them.

Uh, I run the system in the sig just fine-didily-ine w/ a ghetto 250w PS that came w/ my case. I've never had any problems.
