View Full Version : Was anyone disappointed from a 2.4B Dell pull?

Yes, another huge generalization question :)

Just curious if anyone here got a "bummed" chip out of a Dell pull recently? My father has a few Dell machines at his office that are brand new, and he offered to let me swap my 1.8A (with a pin-mod so it thinks it's a 2.4B) for one of the 2.4B's in the Dells.

They're like BRAND new, so I'm assuming they've got to be at least C1 steppings if maybe not D1's or even (gasp) M0's. Anyone have less-than-happy luck with their Dell-pulled CPU?

Thanks in advance for answering teh n00b question :)

I don't think the M0 stepped chips are any good. Look for "1" chips, and yes all 800FSB chips are D1.

okay - i was looking @ 800fsb and was like, wtf no C1 , how are these people overclocking so well.

any one have a list of the good 800mhz FSB sSpec numbers that over clock sweet? or is there another way to know?

C1 was a 533FSB stepping. 800's are all D1's.

Nope, some new 800 FSB C chips are M0 stepping.

I'll haven't forgotten about this thread; I haven't picked up the chip yet either. More info hopefully later in the week...
