Ok i have an asus A7N8X. If i bought a gig of pc4200 ddr, and dropped my athlon xp multiplier to run at same clocks, could this mainboard handle a 533mhz fsb?

533? eh? I assume you mean DDR533.

266MHz is above the top end for most AMD systems, only extreme cooling and Vmodding the NB voltage will allow a FSB that high. I would guess that your board is capable of 220 MHz if it is a Rev2.

well ok then, looks like a 533fsb athlon xp is out of the question for me.

and for everyone m8 it just dont exist on amd chips

besides if you mean to compete with the 533 p4 rating then it is realy a 133 system fsb p4's use quad timing 133x4 =533

correct me if i'm mistaken by this

yes, amd is double pumped, i've asked the same question, and i just don't think it's possible, but throw that pc4200 in and get kickin

let us now if the processor/mobo can handle it

most i've gotten is 227mhz(454fsb) but my pc3500(ddr433) couldn't handle it

guess i could try running async, hmmmm.......
