So, I here that NVidia is no longer concentrating their efforts in video cards?? They have their hands in too many baskets now...

I'm thinking of moving over to ATI with the new 9800XT, is this a good decision? Has ATI improved their drivers?, updating, etc..?

I appreciate any info/opinions y'all can give me...

ATI's 9800 series is the best at the moment. Just stay away from the SE, and they are all great buys.

Drivers are very good, better than nVidia in DirectX, possibly not as good in OpenGL.

The SE is an R350 core with half of its pipelines disabled

And yes, the XT is both newer, and better, than the 9800 Pro. Has faster clock speeds, a resdesign of the core to allow better heat displacment, better cooling, thermal monitoring, and overclocking is covered by the warrenty (to a degree)

ATI's driver support has increased phenominally. Currently, they release new drivers every 3 weeks or so, and they usually have a slew of improvements included. Newer drivers are usually best for ATI cards now. None of the 'Which Detonators will work best' questions. :p

Good decision.
