Hello everyone, I am new to this and would like some ideas how to overclock more for my TBird 1.1 (200fsb)..
cpu Tb 1.1 (200Mhz)
kt7A-raid abit m/b with the lastest bios 4.32
via 4in1 4.31 final
2 maxtor ata100 30 g harddisk
soundblaster live
3com Nic
Matrox g400-tv
with 350 p/s
Tonnicom 166mhg sdram
I able to overclock to 1.2g with the 133 FSB with the mutip X9. However I tried to move the FSB to 136 and it locked out the machine and I also tried lower down the mutip to 8 and the FSB at 136 and no go....Is it anyone please teach me and let me know did I do anything wrong that caused me cannot go higher..??
Other than that everthing run so solid and no other problems at all...just want to see how far that I could go ...
Thanks

What kind of cooling are you using ? AMD's love to get hot. Being summer time doesn't help either. Some temperature specs would help. Room temp, case temp, cpu temp.
Before we recommend any alternative changes or anything like that I want to be sure you've got proper cooling.
try oc it without any other cards in the machine. what NIC do you have?
Well, have u tried other settings, like 9,5x130MHz and 9,5x133? Maybe ur motherboard dosen't like to run at such high FSB speeds.
Also, what are ur temps?

Some of the kt7a mb want go over 136 fsb.I can get my fsb up to 151, 152 locks up .a buddy's kt7a wouldn't go above 136 until I flash the bois. i got it to go 138 it might go high but we were at his house when we found this out and i don't like overclocking anywere but my house.next time he comes over with his pc will find out.im going to try to but a h,s,f on the pLL chip that's what makes your fsb go up or down. the chip is to the right of the processor.it called the phaselink on the abit md.

i believe we have a heat problem. That cpu won't have a problem with that overclock. What hsf are you using?
I'm not sure if you have an unlocked Tbird or not, however if you unlocked it yourself try checking it or re-doing it. If it's not unlocked properly you'll get problems with FSB x Multiplier problems.

What are you temps? core, case, ambi? This will expose a cooling issue. Is your CPU locked or unlocked? if its locked for god sake unlock it, and increase the X. I dont have a Abit board but I do know that juicing up the FSB can affect any thing running on the bus, thus creating obsticles for a nice OC. So check the temps, mess with increasing the mutliplier, and try lowering the bandwidth, you may have an issue with a pci device.
