What games are you looking forward to? (besides HL2)

I'm looking forward to Worms3D, Thief 3 and UFO: Aftermath. But I'd like to know what you guys are looking forward to, there might be something that I haven't heard of yet. :D

worms3, max payne 2, XIII, and splinter cell 2. I'm not really looking forward to HL2 (for MANY reason), and i'm not looking forward to DoomIII either.....

I may try Thief3. I rather enjoyed Splinter Cell....I like that sneaking around action. I played a demo of ThiefII.....but that was a long time ago. But, i haven't heard much at all about Thief3....so eh.

everquest is an MMORPG. Massive-Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. There are a dozen such games like it...Star Wars Galaxies, Planetside, oh and a bunch of others. The main thing that distinguishes them from most games is that you have to pay for it per month...that covers server costs and the storage of your avatar.

THe cost is why i never got into them. I'm sure they're fun, but eh.

Syberia 2. This game would have been nearly out by now, but Microids delayed it until Q2 2004 because they want to do a simultaneous multi platform release :(
Neverwinter Nights Hordes of the Underdark. This expansion should bring a lot more to the table than the first one. It should be fun.
Silent Hill 3 PC. I'm all out of nightmares from Silent Hill 2.
Legacy of Kain: Defiance. I love the Soul Reaver games! No PC version announced though :cry:
Beyond Good & Evil PC. Look this one up, hopefully it will be fun.
The Longest Journey: Static. I guess they were just kidding about the first game being 'the longest'. This one is a long way off. The release date is still TBA.
The Hobbit PC ... The demo is out, I have not tried it.. might be fun :-/

No one has mentioned S.T.A.L.K.E.R. yet (or perhaps it just takes way to long to type :D ). I like the story/idea of that game, plus it's looking pretty nice, and the physics are up there with HL2.

The longest Journey was easily the best PC adventure game I've had the pleasure of playing. It presents inspired scifi and fantasy settings seen through the perspective of the 'real world' female lead. the puzzles are challenging but not stupid hard like some Adventure games. The game is satisfyingly long too, especially for this genre. I look back on playing it fondly.

You really just have to give it a shot. You should be able to find it for cheap anywhere easily since it was released in the US in 2000. Heck I got it for 20 USD back in early 2002.

I saw the physics demo movies and I thought they looked pretty crappy. Almost every game does the 'guy falling of the tower' scene better and that grenade shockwave just looked cheezy. In any case this looks like just another FPS to me. A lot of polish but that same old gameplay.

Planetside is a MMOFPS not a MMORPG :)

Gather around my friends for a fascinating tale about a pair of the most unlikely heroes...

It was a bright sunny day...outside. Inside the high-rise walls of the massive Genron Corporation, however, it was quite a different story. In fact, it was a very cold, dark day. For you see, Genron is a high-tech lab where innocent animals are used to test human products. Deep inside Genron lies the dreaded "Genetic Recombinator," the final destination for animal test subjects who have outlived their usefulness.

On this particular day, Spanx, a crazy, electro-shock tested weasel and Redmond, a know-it-all, makeup-tested rabbit, are chained together, thrown in a locked cage, and sent on their way to the Genetic Recombinator. The plan is to fuse them together into a new, rather freaky, half-rabbit/half weasel creature--a "Weasit" or perhaps a "Reasel."

As their lives begin to quickly flash before their eyes, a miracle happened. Somehow, Spanx and Redmond escaped from their cage at the very possible last second. Now, this weasel-rabbit duo are on the loose, attempting to break out from Genron. There's one small problem however--they're chained together.

Basically you control Spanx, using Redmond (who now has no pain sensors becasue of the extensive testing inflicted upon him) as a weopan. Your only objective is destroy the lab and free your animal chums :D

heard it will be like symphony of the night, so im excited. and I highly recomend that game to anyone who like side scrollers where u play as a half vampire who fights his way through a huge castle.

I really hated Black and White 1, as it had far too little control on cities and population...

From what I have read, Black and White 2 will be more like Populous merged with Black and White 1, which really sounds like a million bucks.

There are rumors of a holiday PS2/Xbox price cut, but you know how that goes. Watch Sony, PS2 dictates the price of both consoles right now. On the bright side its just $180 working out of the box, no memory card required and they come with the smaller controllers.

And they just announced this week that they will be developing an entirely new WW2 flight sim called Battle of Britain. But it won't be released until 2005! I've got high hopes for it though, Oleg Maddox will be leading the development team. He lead the development of IL2/Forgotten Battles, the best combat flight sim at this time.

I've also read that someone is developing a WW1 combat flight sim. That could be great if it is done well.

But I realize my post will be of interest to probably 2 or 3 members of OC.com.

It sounds like the AI will be really cool too. The bad guys are out in the middle of an island and you can attack them from any direction or just sneak by them, but they will react acordingly to how and where you attack from. Not like the typical mobs that are scripted to be in your way on that linear path to... well what ever it is you're after.

Sounds pretty cool.

-Fable...I admit it, I've talked bad about the XBox in the past. BUT, if this game is all it is hyped up to be, I may have to buy me one (since the PC version is not in sight)

-System Shock 3 --- ERRR. Oops, this one isn't in the works. How I long for a game with the atmosphere of system shock2 though. PM me if you know of one.
