Hi all!
I'm in the processing of switching my asus a7v8x-x MB w/ my new gigabyte 7n4pro2

My OS is win xp pro.

my question is,

i really don't want to do a clean install of winxp when i put this new MB. Will i run into problems w/ the old motherboard drivers?
or any other drivers?
Should I uninstall my motherboard drivers before i make the switch?

thanks

Welcome to the Forums!

Since they are both Nforce boards, the swap shouldn't be too difficult. Uninstalling the motherboard drivers would be a good move.

If you have dificulty getting it to boot, you may have to resort to a Repair Installation. I've had good luck doing this when I have swapped motherboards with completely diferent chipsets. If you have any questions about a Repair Installation, take a look at this excellent site, http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/repair_xp.htm .
