Another NVidiot turns to ATi. Some help on what gfx card :)

I'm about to purchase a new GFX card. I've had Nvidia for so long (back in the old days)...these r just a few of the nvidia cards ive owned...
TNT2 32mb Ultra
geforce 2 mx 400
geforce 3 ti 500 64mb
geforce 4 ti 4200 64mb

Its time to try something different and i've heard so many good things about ATi. My price range is £130-£200ish and im going to overclock this card, It must have a 8-b/w pipeline but still be under £200 if poss ;) Im not sure what to go for. Im gonna use it for games such as LFS (www.liveforspeed.com) with high AA+AF in my current rig (see sig).....any input is welcome :) ... gazz

if you can stretch your budget another 20 pounds or so, 9800 non pro's can be found in the UK for around 220 pounds.

that's about 50 pounds more than the 9700, but after overclocking both cards the 9800 should be a fair amount quicker. Whether the difference is worth 50 pounds is up to you.

yea theyn look meaty ;) should pack a punch i was lookin at them earlier actually.....r the 9800P the same as the 9800NP with same everythin (2.86ns ddr) just clocked lower?

Update - Ive just found a ATI Sapphi Radeon 9800 PRO 128M OEM for £230 free P&P brand new :) should i go for it?

Pretty much, but some 9800NPs have Infineon 3ns memory. Lots of people said they had trouble flashing this to a Pro speed bios. I got mine yesterday with the infineon memory and it flashed perfectly. Maybe I got lucky? Been playing games and running benches without any problems. The card is a beast

sweet :) .... the card i found is a pro anyway and should run like a mofo.....no overclocking on my card when i get it tho :P who needs more than 18K 3dmark score man :)
