I have tried downloading the Network Install version of SP4 100 times and when I double click on the EXE it verifies the file and then says with a red X, "File is corrupt". I have tried putting it on different drives and still the same result. I have a DSL connection (a router behind pppoe'd Efficent Networks (now siemans) SpeedStream 5260 ADSL bridge, I use Prodigy/SBCGlobal/SNET as my ISP and backbone provider) so I highly doubt it is being corrupted along the way to me. I have tried downloading it close to 100 times. Evertime it is corrupt. My clock is accuratly set so this isn't a expired certificate problem.

Also when I Right click on exe-properties-digital signatures tab-details button. It says in a tabbed window "Digital Signature Information

This digital signature is not valid"

how can I fix my problem?

Start | Run | Type gpedit.msc and click OK | Expand the following branch...

Console Root | Local Computer Policy | Computer Configuration | Windows Settings | Security Settings | Local Policies | Security Options

Locate the following policies in the RH pane...

Devices: Unsigned driver installation behavior
Devices: Unsigned non-driver installation behavior

...and set them to "Silently succeed", by right clicking each policy and selecting "Properties" | In the "Local Security Setting" window that appears, choose "Silently succeed" from the drop down menu. I would imagine that one or both of the above policies are set to Do not allow installation, which is the reason you can't install the SP4 update. :)

Have you tried to DL sp4 net install from a differant server if possible?

I grabbed my copy just after sp4 came out and have used it several times without any issues.

I'm assuming you are either logged in as administrator or are part of the administrators group.

you can download it from different sources such as MS and other hosted places

you can call MS and order a SP4 CD to send to you. You only pay for shipping and handlering.
