OMG my ASUS A7M will only show 64mbs DDR mem when I have 256mbs help!

Well I just exchanged my MSI for the ASUS A7M Mobo and it only shows 64mbs memorey wtf ? I got 256mbs DDR samsung err im pist now help = (

Try taking the memory sticks out and putting them back in. Where does it only show 64 MB? Have u checked to see what it says in Device Manager?

Yea I did it says 64mbs in device manager btw I only have 1 DDR stick which is 256mbs PC2100 Samsung

are you sure that is a 256 meg stick and not 64 meg stick. What does the bois say?

ITS A 256mb stick DDR i said it dood its not 64 yes im sure it says 256 all over it this stick was in my last mobo and said256 bios says 64

is it in the right slot. On my mobo there is a first slot and if you have only one stick it must be in that slot. Perhaps if you had it in the wrong one it would work, but not read all of it. I dunno, im just making guesses here.

You may need to turn off the SPD in your BIOS that detects your memory configuration especially if it is misreading your chip config in the EEPROM on the memory module (or the EPPROM got zapped) and config it manually.
